La Chapelle Saint Laurent

This flowered inner centre, with many shops and activities, offers an important religious heritage thanks its two churches :

the magnificent Basilica de Pitié is the most attracting pilgrim place of Poitou and attracts more than 10000 persons each year and the Romanesque Chapelle Saint Laurent.
For the nature lovers, many walkpaths round the lakes are to be discovered.
Don’t miss having a break to see one of the last operational watermill in the department, situated in Les Mothes.
All along the year, La Chapelle Saint Laurent offers a wide range of events such as “Les Foulées Chapelaises� in May, meeting of sport and culture but also the “Foire de Pitié� in September, with exhibitions and one of bovine race, street show, meals and fireworks.
